LILA LIED is a multimedia cabaret evening that transforms the SchwuZ in Neukölln into a circus ring. Based on Mischa Spoliansky's chanson of the same name, which became the anthem of the world's first homosexual movement, the biographies of forgotten queer-feminist artists of the Weimar Republic are revived with electronic music, drag and burlesque and bridges them to today's emancipatory movements.
"We are just different from the others, who are being loved only in lockstep of morality”
More than 100 years ago, the "Lavender Song", LILA LIED, was published, which became the anthem of the world's first homosexual movement. It calls for the decriminalization of same-sex love and dreams of a more tolerant future.
The colorful and political cabaret evening LILA LIED brings the movement of homosexual as well as gender and socially non-conforming people from the 1920s back to our Berlin of the present! The diverse artistic team conveys historical knowledge via chanson, acrobatics, burlesque, drag as well as video installation and asks critical questions to society today. A queer, migrant, feminist theater project in the oldest queer club in Germany, the SchwuZ Berlin!
